Testimonials

Karen and I aren't the only ones who have found the Angels' messages helpful.  These are some other people who have applied the Guidelines to their own lives, and these are some of the results they found:

“I struggled with my health for years. Digestive difficulties, allergies, fatigue, headaches and acne. I was also addicted to sugar. I jumped right into Eating the Angel Way and my health improved drastically. I felt so centered, so relaxed and at peace. My digestive difficulties improved. I had more energy and felt so much more alive. I was no longer addicted to sugar. That foggy-headed feeling I was so used to was gone. My allergies improved and so did my acne.
ETAW taught me how to really listen to my body. To ask my body what it wanted to eat, and when it wanted to eat. I learned to not let my husband and son's tastes dictate what I would eat. I got used to preparing myself something different if my body didn't want what they were having.
Then, for whatever reason, I stopped Eating the Angel Way and my health and the quality of my life started going downhill. My digestive difficulties returned. I once again found myself addicted to sugar. I was no longer in tune with my body and found myself eating when my body wasn't hungry and eating foods my body didn't want. I felt ungrounded, frazzled and anxious. I was lethargic weak and depressed. The acne returned worse than it ever had.
Needless to say, I recently began to follow the Angel Guidelines again, and my health has begun to improve in the same dramatic way.”

“I look for ways to include different foods and colors, I think about what I’m eating and enjoying it more, and after years of yo-yo dieting, I don’t even say the “D” word any more. It used to be hard to find blue food but the more I look, the more I find: blueberries, radicchio, purple cabbage, purple plums, purple potatoes, eggplant... I can’t wait to make a red, white, and blue potato salad for the 4th of July picnic. I never thought I’d be so excited about making something healthy – like salad.
“I have realized that I eat for other people…. I like some things like winter squash and sweet potatoes, but don’t cook them because my husband doesn’t like them. I’m learning to make food I like, and I’m learning to say ‘No, thank you,’ when the boss shows up with cheeseburgers after I’ve already had my lunch.
“I worry sometimes that I am just checking off the rainbow without "getting" the Angel way of eating. For one thing, I often eat a rainbow plus a chili cheese dog and fries. And I hear the demons whispering that anything called a "ho-ho" has to be good.
“But I know I’m hearing something else more and more…and I’m not sure who or what to call it… but maybe my own Angels, my heart, my own sense of self. Something is leading me toward better choices for myself and not so I'll wow them at my 35th high school reunion. And something is helping me to forgive myself for the Snickers and the chili cheese dog and to allow myself to enjoy the sweet potato and the red cabbage.”

“I’ve altered my cooking habits since following the Angel Way. All my kids cook and we make a game out of finding rainbows every day and throughout the week. Now, after charting what we used to eat, I look at the produce section in a whole new light. I buy a bigger variety of vegetables, fruits and grains to cook.
“Purple was hard to fit in at first, but now the kids and I enjoy the challenge of finding new foods in every color and in trying different combinations of grains. We’ve discovered whole new taste sensations. Also, I’m cooking with more fruit. I prep everything ahead of time and the family just grabs and goes. Following the guidelines has helped me keep my weight stable and has helped my kids stay healthy throughout the school year. Being aware of what I’m putting into my body has helped me to show my kids how to be aware of what they put into their bodies. And it’s so much fun.”
